Joe Peddicord, Annapolis – lived at Rosewood for 20 years “I got paid in cigarettes to do the laundry.” Joe worked at Rosewood while he was a resident, he did laundry and was paid in cigarettes. Even though he didn’t earn money he wanted to work because otherwise there was nothing to do. Joe remembers the embarrassment of changing clothes in front of everyone and showering with lots of people. Now in the community Joe enjoys not being around a whole lot of people and living in his own apartment and working. He loves that he has privacy now and doesn’t have to share everything like he did at Rosewood. He tells everyone that life in the community is more fun! |
