James Wise lived at the Rosewood Center from 1968  til 1977. He now lives in Harford County. Here is James’ story in his own words:

  I’m James Wise. I live on Olive Branch Court with 2 of my friends. I work at Pizza Hut, hanging door hanger coupons. I used to live in different places, but I like where I’m living now.

 When I was little, I lived with my family. My mom couldn’t take care of us and they took us (my brothers and sisters) away. Then they put me in Rosewood. I lived there a long time. I didn’t like it, no way! You worked all day and went to school. I didn’t get to do what I wanted to do. I had no money …I was broke!

 I love my life now! I have all of my friends. I have a job. I’ve got my own room with a TV and Stereo. And my fishing pole!

 I think people shouldn’t live at Rosewood. They should tear it down! I want people to live like I’m living now.
